Maca Charcoal Face Mask

written by STEPH April 19, 2017

I have created many masks over the years and each of them has their own unique purpose.  This Maca Charcoal Face Mask will revitalize, tone, firm and brighten your completion.  The charcoal helps to remove toxins while the maca nourishes by infusing vitamins and minerals into the skin.  It will help tired dull lifeless skin look more alive.

Maca Charcoal Face Mask - #facemask #charcoalmask #naturalskincareMy skin needed attention due to the recent weather changes so I created this wonderful mask to revitalize my complexion.  My skin hasn’t felt this radiant for some time.

Is a mask part of your skincare routine?  It can take some effort to get into the habit of a skincare regime but it is so important for helping your skin stay as youthful as it can for as long as possible.  The use of a mask will help your skin’s ability to absorb other skincare products more proficiently as well.

Maca Charcoal Face Mask - #facemask #charcoalmask #naturalskincareMaca Root Powder – This superfood strengthens the skin’s structural matrix and is extremely nourishing. It increases collagen production while it firms and smoothens fine lines and wrinkles.  Because it is an adaptogen, it is very healing and it brings vitality to your skin.

Charcoal  – Is like a deep cleansing detoxifying magnet that removes dirt, chemicals and toxins.  It helps to tighten large pores while it decongests and firms the skin.

Aloe Vera Gel – Penetrates and holds moisture in the skin’s tissue to help minimize fine lines and wrinkles. It also draws and holds oxygen into the skin.  Aloe has enzymes that break down and digests dead skin cells, which accelerates cellular renewal. It also helps to balance the skin’s natural Ph.

Maca Charcoal Face Mask - #facemask #charcoalmask #naturalskincareLavender Essential Oil – Boosts circulation while it reduces inflammation.  It heals and balances the sebum production for both oily and dry skin that returns the skin to its normal state.

Palmarosa Essential Oil – Is extremely hydrating to the skin.  It helps your body retain the moisture in the tissues and throughout the body.  It relieves inflammation and dehydration.  Palmarosa keeps the skin soft, moist, and looking young.

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil – Stimulates and tones the skin while balancing the sebum production.  Therefore, it helps both dry and oily skin return to normal.  It will also help your skin retain moisture and stay hydrated.

Frankincense Essential Oil – Helps to protect skin cells.  It is great for reducing acne blemishes, tightening large pores, preventing wrinkles and slowing the signs of aging.  It also helps to lift and tighten the skin.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Teaspoon Maca Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon or 3 capsules Activated Charcoal Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Aloe Vera Juice or Gel

Your choice of:

  • 4 Drops Lavender Essential Oil - balancing/normal/combination

or

  • 2 Drops Palmarosa Essential Oil - hydrating/dry

or

  • 2 Drops Ylang Ylang Essential Oil - balancing/oily/acne

or

  • 2 Drops Frankincense Essential Oil - firming/mature/wrinkles

Instructions

  1. Use 1 - 2 times a week
  2. In a small bowl, mix the maca and charcoal together and then stir in the aloe vera and essential oil.
  3. Start by first washing your face.
  4. Next, use an exfoliant to remove dead skin cells for deeper penetration. (This step is optional but extremely helpful.)
  5. Apply to face and neck in an upward motion.
  6. Let sit for 10 minutes making sure to spray with water or a hydrosol to keep the mask moist. This will help the skin to not dry out.
