This is fun to make with your kids, they get a kick out of learning the process of how their juice is made. Not to mention how yummy and good for you it is!
Recipe:
2 1/2 lb of Grapes makes 1 Quart
Instructions:
I used concord grapes, but you can use any kind.
Pick all the grapes off the stems and wash them.
Mash the grapes with a potato masher this will release the juices, pulp and at the same time removing the skins.
Put in to a sauce pan and add water about 1/2 inch above the grapes.
Bring to a boil then turn down to med-low for 10 – 15 minutes.
Taste the juice and depending on how sweet the grapes are you can add sugar or maple syrup while the grapes are cooking.
Pour through cheese cloth in a mesh colander and press the grapes in the cheese cloth to get all the juices out.
Pour into a jar and refrigerate.
