About

Hi everyone, my name is Stephanie and I am originally from Santa Monica, California, some of you might know it as Dogtown.   After traveling the world in my 20’s I settled down in Maui for a year then moved to Hood River Oregon, the windsurfing capital of the world!  I opened and ran a very popular restaurant called Purple Rocks Art Bar and Café for 3 years at the age of 23.  I had no prior experience and I didn’t even go to school for it.  Basically, I just went for it!   I especially loved the developing of recipes and the overall designing of the restaurant and menu.  I taught myself to cook and bake through research, trial and error.  Operating the restaurant was the hardest thing that I have ever done in my life.  At one point I had 23 employees however, it was the most incredible learning experience.  At the time, the town was only busy enough in the summers so I ended up selling it.

After I sold the restaurant, I started a jewelry line named Venezian, which I sold to 23 stores in Portland, Seattle, Idaho and California.  At the same time, I had designed 3 of the top selling hats for Dakine snowboarding accessories.  I had been into making natural skin care for some time so I decided to start my own line where I developed my own recipes.  It was named “Flower of Flowers” after the Ylang Ylang flower.  My friend had joined me and we started to sell the line to local health food stores as well as hosting our own skin care parties for about 2 years.  My friend ended up moving to Maui and I decided I was going to let it go and kept on with my Venezian jewelry line.  Shortly after, I was hired on at Flerchinger’s Vineyards (now known as Cathedral Ridge) and I worked there for 4 years serving customers in the tasting room as well as I worked at all the Oregon wine shows slinging wine.  I ended up learning all about the wine industry from the different varietals, bottling, labeling, the climates that the grapes grow in, the crush methods, filtration, the fermentation process and so much more!
